The Clip
From the start, the Clip was designed with consideration for its environmental impact. Ecodesign strategies (outlined in the paragraphs below) supported the entire product design cycle from initial conception to final detailed design decisions. The Clip Environmental Report includes more information about our efforts to reduce the product's life-cycle impact.

Eco-design Srategy: Durability
A number of key design decisions were made to promote the Clip's durability, allowing its already low environmental impact to be divided across a longer lifetime of use. Stainless steel was selected as the primary material for the Clip because of its toughness, hardness, and resistance to extended wear and tear. The lack of moving parts in the Clip’s design helps reduce the risk of a product component breaking prematurely. Finally, the Clip has been designed as a companion. It is not a product to be casually discarded after only a short period of use. On the contrary, and without an ounce of doubt, it is a product that is intended to provide meaningful and multiple use over many years!

Eco-design Strategy: Local Production
Producing locally is beneficial on many fronts. For one, we avoid having to ship our product long distances from our manufacturers. In addition, we have more control over our production process, ensuring that our materials are sourced locally and the production waste is dealt with in the most environmentally efficient way. The scrap metal that is produced from our manufacturing process is either recycled or used to build other products and prototypes.

Eco-design Srategy: Recyclability
Both the Clip and the packaging that it comes in are fully recyclable, helping to minimize the product's end-of-life impact. Once the Clip reaches its end-of-life (which we hope it never does), it must be disposed of correctly to avoid its ending up in a landfill. Find out more about proper disposal of the Clip here.
